"Even before coming to Spain, I've always wanted to have my own business. Of course it's challenging because each country has its own rules, its own process, which of course needs its own strategies. One challenge for us foreigners is the environment we are part of, because it directly affects not only our everyday life but even our aspirations and how we would design our future. But if there's one thing that made me push through, it's my roots. Yes, we need to adapt, to learn, and to assimilate. But being different is not only a challenge, it has become my strength. As a Mexican and a Latin American, we have this mentality of "be better". Be better for my family, be better for my children, be better for my future. We are happy and friendly people, but also on our DNA is this strength of life-long learning and development. And with this, though it was difficult, I managed to push through and be where I am today - a good teacher and running my own business. I am happy as to where I am today, but I am even more excited for what's to come because I am sure, it will even "be better"".

"I wasn't even 20 when I left my country. Everything was different and new and unusual. I had to learn everything while actually doing the work. Aside from the cold and the quiet, probably the hardest part was when I lost my Grandma who took care of me and raised me. It happened all of a sudden at a time when I was just starting to give back to all her love and support for me. It crushed me. But just as any challenge, it only made me stronger. From someone who was spoiled and sheltered at home, I chose to try the unfamiliar and the difficult. In the end, I'm proud of my choices, the person I have become, and the person that I'm becoming. If there's one piece of advice I would like to give young people like me, that is to make sure you give every possible option for yourself. If you fail, get up and try again. And if you succeed, never forget to be thankful as you continue on."

"When you have lived in different cities, that's where the difficulty of knowing which place you should call your home. In fact, it's everywhere. Like right now, I'm staying in Barcelona, but I don't know where I'm moving next. Even if those places I lived in are memorable and was home for a moment in time, l cannot come back there and feel like it's home anymore. Because now, I'm a different person than who I was in those moments in the past. So for me home is not really defined by a place, maybe it's about the people who are in that place and also the period of time you are in.
